Types of Yoga Classes in Colorado Springs

Yoga Nidra- A guided relaxation meditation technique that’s experience while lying down. It releases tension on a physical, mental and emotional level. The body remains still, while the mind remains active. This allows the student to hover between sleep and wakefulness. These yoga poses manage stress, tension, anxiety, and insomnia.

Align and Flow Yoga- This style will help you gain skill and stamina. It opens the body up to a strong form and breathing flow. Expect inversions, balance poses, contemplation, and cool down in this mixed level class.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga- An improvised mix of Sun Salutations, standing and seated postures, meditaion, and breathing. The body is energized and the mind is quieted by using conscious breath to flow. In vinyasa yoga, you’ll move from posture to posture in a variety of transitional movements.

Slow Flow Yoga- This class is the balancing of receptive and active energies. This balance is achieved through slow flowing movement, well aligned posture, breath work, intentional core engagement, and meditation.

Midday Yoga- Will leave you feeling balanced, energized, and calm. A vigorous practice that moves slowly through basic elements of Sun Salutations, standing, and seated postures.

Sivananda Yoga- A more challanging class that will take the student deep into breathing techniques and quickly through a vigourous series of Sun Salutations, balancing poses, inversions, and guided relation.

Restorative Yoga- This class offers the student an opportunity to discover the space in one’s joints and free up what holdings are often manifested in the body. The practice of the physical postures connects one with spiritual teaching of yoga and enables one to become a better human being.

Yoga for Athletes- A fluid and athletic yoga sequence consisting of Sun Salutations, standing, seated, and breathing postures. This set of yoga poses will increases body awareness, strength, stamina, flexibility, balance, confidence, and self acceptance.

Anusara Yoga- This is a very graceful experience. Balance the mind and the body with the practice of alignment. This is a mixed level class filled with balance and action. What could be better than Three Key yoga Colorado Springs.

Evening Yoga- A gentle and joyous evening class. This is a thoughtful practice which includes both active and restorative postures, and as always a close focus on breathing. What a perfect way to end your day.

Foundational Yoga- A progression of practices to develop awareness. This class works on your breathing, body, mind, and emotions. You will find yourself feeling grounded and centered through this breath then stretch method. This class strengthens, balances, relaxes, and rejuvenates ones self.

Gentle Yoga- A restorative set of yoga poses that helps reduce your stress and supports your overall well being. Slow down enough to be with your body and relax into the depths of silent presence in various gentle poses. These and Hatha classes are typically quite similar.

Yin Yoga-This is a slow-paced style of yoga poses or asanas that are held for longer periods of time, ranging from five minutes or longer per yin yoga pose.

Hatha Yoga-This style is used to describe gentle & basic classes with no flow between asanas. A hatha class has slow-paced stretching with breathing exercises and meditation. This is a great class at Three Key Yoga Colorado Springs

Bikram Yoga-A normal class will run for over an hour and consist of the same 26 postures, including two breathing exercises.[4] Bikram Yoga is ideally practiced in a room heated to one-hundred and four degrees fahrenheit with a humidity of about forty percent.
