Want to go further in depth on the different types of yoga poses and styles?

Yin Yoga- This practice is slow paced. It involves poses or asanas that are held for long durations of time, ranging anywhere from five minutes and up. Yin yoga is a style of yoga being taught throughout the world. Some prominent teachers have helped spread it’s popularity, and enlighten many individuals

Hatha Yoga- This refers to the physical exercise, breathing control, and yoga poses(asana), associated with yoga. Today, hatha yoga is most often used to describe gentle classes, with relatively no flow between poses. A hatha yoga class will likely be a slow-paced stretching class with some simple breathing exercises. Hatha also has seated meditation. This is a good place for beginners. It allows them to learn the yoga poses and relaxation techniques.

Vinyasa Yoga- It has become a very common and loved style of yoga. It can best be thought of as a sequence of movements that form different postures in a continuous flow. It forms an in motion state of meditation. Vinyasa yoga is a very dynamic form of yoga, where the breath and transitions of the asanas are connected.

Bikram Yoga- Or as we all have come to know it, hot yoga! Bikram Yoga is a type of yoga that Bikram Choudhury created based off of traditional hatha yoga. Bikram Yoga classes run for an hour and a half and typically consist of a series of twenty-six postures. It is practiced in a room heated to one-hundred and four degrees fahrenheit with a humidity just below fifty percent.
